Some notes on Nepeta's bloodswap, because I'm a moron and cannot be content with normal swaps. No sir.
• Nepeta is not, in fact, a mutant blood. She's actually another Tyrian purple troll who managed to make it through the brooding cave trials to where Gl'bgolyb was awaiting. Unfortunately because Equius had also made it out of the trials alive a fight erupted that ended in the collapse of the lusus' cave and a heavily injured Nepeta barely escaping to the surface because of that.
• She was discovered by a low-blooded lusus who had just suffered the loss of his own wriggler (CRABDAD :D), because wow is Alternia a dangerous place or what. Feeling bereft after emotionally bonding with a young troll only to lose him, the lusus took Nepeta under his care. This is why Equius and Nepeta's lusii do not follow the pattern of corresponding with their charges' gender, as Crabdad was another troll's lusus originally and it is implied that Gl'bgolyb was intended for Nepeta.
• Nepeta bonded much more intensely with her adoptive lusus than is usual for most trolls. Because leaving the hive might risk her spilling blood and being discovered, most of her companionship was Crabdad. On the flipside, because Crabdad had already lost one troll he's incredibly protective of Nepeta.
• She wears a hooded cloak/cape thing to hide her face fins and gills from view. There is absolutely no way to get her to remove it unless she is in private.
• She's aware of her status as a fugitive from the hierarchy of Alternia, and that by all rights she should be dead. This doesn't bother her, as she has no real interest in becoming empress. It has made her vehemently opposed to the hemospectrum however, because she feels that no one should have to hide what they are.
• Nepeta still roleplays. Because of her charade she feels like she's already in a perpetual roleplay, so a little more online is a natural extension. Crabdad refuses to let her FLARP, though, for the very good reason of not wanting to spill blood in public.
• Equius is still her moirail. Like in the original universe she takes up the role of pacifier, as well as trying to steer the Heir Apparent to a more revolutionary policy for when he ascends to the throne. Things like abolishing the hemospectrum and culling the weak. They're just as close as in canon, but despite this she still hasn't told him her true blood color. As much as she loves him, she's not actually sure how he'd react.
